Photo of the Month - June 2000
I nearly passed over this group of three photos from Colin Karslake. (aka, Apache) who is a helper at Basingstoke Air Scouts. Then I looked at them again and remembered that the parade on St Georges day is a special tradition to Scouting that is followed all over the country. Other than the parades of Rememberance Sunday, I can think of no other example of a comparable nationwide public event.
These photos were taken on Sunday 16th April 2000, at the Basingstoke East Scout District's, St. George's Day Parade.

Taking the salute.
The Dignitaries preparing to take the salute included the Basingstoke Mayoress, District President, District Commissioner and Assistant County Commissioner.

The parade proceeding along Shetland Road, Popley, Basingstoke.
The photos were taken by myself (Colin) using a digital camera.
