Lydney Deer Park Camp,

The site is operated by the Royal Forest of Dean Scout District and offers traditional camping facilities for small camps and larger groups up to 150 on a large flat field. The site itself is situated 1km south of the busy town of Lydney.

Activities which can take place close to the campsite include: pioneering, canoeing, hiking, abseilling & rock climbing, caving and pony trekking.

There are numerous footpaths and organised trails through the adjacent Forest of Dean which make for ideal hikes.

The Offa's Dyke footpath starts nearby at Chepstow.

Other attractions within easy reach include:

• Castles at Chepstow, Goodrich & St Briavels.
• Dean Forest Railway & Norchard Steam Centre.
• Clearwell Caves, Ancient Iron Mines.
• Puzzle Wood.
• Jubilee Maze
• Dean Heritage Centre.
• Butterfly World.

The camp site facilities are at present of a basic nature.

• Water is on site.
• Toilet emptying point.
• Alter fires provided for open cooking.
• Camp fire circle.

Open from Good Friday to the 31st August.
