The site is operated by the Royal Forest of Dean Scout District and offers traditional camping facilities for small camps and larger groups up to 150 on a large flat field. The site itself is situated 1km south of the busy town of Lydney.
Activities which can take place close to the campsite include: pioneering, canoeing, hiking, abseilling & rock climbing, caving and pony trekking.
There are numerous footpaths and organised trails through the adjacent Forest of Dean which make for ideal hikes.
The Offa's Dyke footpath starts nearby at Chepstow.
