Photo of the Month - August 2002

Helen Smith is now the District Explorer Scout Commissioner for West Hull but she used to be a Venture Scout Leader. Here is photograph she took back when she was the VSL for Unity DVSU

This photo was taken at the Windsor Queens Scout Parade in April 2001. The lad with the Yellow and black Necker (Andy Jackson) is the 10th Venture Scout from Unity DVSU to achieve his Queen's Scout Award and the lad next to him is from Australia and he completed his Queen's Scout Award over here in England while working at Raywell Park Scout Activity Centre (Hull).

Andy was the last Venture Scout to achieve the Queen's Scout Award as part of Unity DVSU. The unit closed last year and in the 10 year history of the group all Queens Scouts have attended Windsor and one even was part of the colour party one year.
